Organised child sexual abuse abuse has been reported by child victims, adult survivors and a range of professionals for over fifty years. However, organised abuse remains poorly understood. Children can be exploited by groups or networks of offenders over a long period of time without detection. Adult survivors can struggle to achieve their rights for safety, health and justice.
This website has been developed by criminologist Professor Michael Salter who specialises in the study of child sexual exploitation, gender-based violence and complex trauma. The aim of the website is to disseminate reliable information about organised abuse to professionals, victims and survivors.
